LIVE WATERCOLOR PORTRAITS
How it Works
As a live event artist, I do my best to create beautiful art that you & your guests will treasure from your celebration for many years to come!
-
During cocktail hour or the reception (you choose!), we’ll set up a cozy corner for portraits—either solo or as couples. We start with a 30–60 minute “photo hour” to snap reference pics, then the painting begins!
-
As each piece is finished, it’s slipped into a clear sleeve and displayed on an accent table for guests to admire. Our setup includes soft lighting, all painting materials, and a charming sign featuring your custom portrait (optional add-on).
-
Painting usually winds down about 30 minutes before the party ends. Any portraits still in progress? No worries—we’ll note who’s left and coordinate with you to complete and deliver them post-event.

Thank you for your interest in my live art services!

Frequently Asked Questions
-
A good rule of thumb is to take your total anticipated guest count and divide by 2.5 to get your portrait count. In our experience, not all guests participate in the live art portraits, and most guests attending love to pose as couples or groups. Additional portraits can be purchased at a studio discount for any late arrivals or guests who could not make your event.
-
Event pricing includes a 4x6 or 5x7 watercolor paper and cellophane sleeves to protect each guest's portrait. To ensure more guests are accommodated, I allow one portrait per couple or family and 1-4 people per portrait. Ex: For events with 50 guests, typically 20-25 portraits are painted.
-
I can typically paint a couple's portrait in under 8 minutes. While I strive to finish all portraits before the event concludes, I will complete any remaining portraits back in my studio at no extra charge, up to the agreed quantity. Once these are finished, they will be shipped to you along with a reference photo for distribution to your guests. Mailing services are available upon request.
-
My set-up includes my own table, chair, and table cover, but if these are available at your wedding or event venue, I am happy to set up wherever needed. As portraits are completed, they will be packaged in a clear protective sleeve and displayed on an accent table or in a framed display. Guests are welcome to observe the illustration process anytime during the reception. The artist table set-up will include a lamp for lighting, watercolor supplies, and a framed sign to explain the station and painting process alongside an optional couple's custom portrait.

Yes! A digital photo album with guest-upload capability and a digital guestbook for guests to add messages alongside their pictures is offered at an additional cost. Alternatively, without this add-on, all photos can be uploaded to a Dropbox folder within 24 business hours of the event, including details on any remaining portraits that need to be delivered.
